Making A Good Impression on Your First Date (Women and Girls Only)

Going on a first date can be stressful enough without worrying about what you should wear. You know you need to make a good first impression but you also want to be yourself and most importantly be comfortable so that you can let your personality do the talking and not your outfit. A first date is your chance to show the other person who you really are so it’s important to be you
. There’s no point in giving him the impression that you are a demure dress kind of girl if you are really the jeans and t-shirt type. If he doesn’t like it then it’s possible he’s not ultimately going to be the one for you.

Dressing appropriately for the occasion is the number one rule to follow on a first date. You don’t want to look too over done for an informal date to the cinema and likewise if your date will involve a certain amount of walking you won’t want to be struggling to keep up with him in a pair of sky-high heels. Also consider the weather, in summer you won’t want to be overdressed as the hot, sweaty look is not a good one for a first date or if it’s the middle of winter shivering and feeling uncomfortable in a skimpy dress for a few hours will distract you from the date.

Another very important first date rule is to not flash too much flesh. It may make you feel sexier but you can save that look for a future date and it’s true that many men find too much cleavage or underwear flashing a turn off on a first date. You don’t want to give him the wrong message so stick to a subtle amount of cleavage or leg. That’s not to say that you should be too conservative it’s possible to still look sexy with an outfit that flatters your figure and enhances your best features.

Another tip you may want to consider is to avoid wearing certain items of clothing that regularly top the list of the most hated clothing women wear. A recent poll showed that women’s’ fashions men particularly dislike include leggings, dungarees, mannish tuxedo style trouser suits, harem pants, Ugg boots and gladiator sandals. That’s not to say that every man will hate these items but it pays to tone down a high fashion look for a first date just to be on the safe side.

So the best thing you can do is to choose an outfit that will accentuate your best features. If you have a killer cleavage then show just a hint of it or perhaps you have a great behind that looks good in a fitted skirt or jeans. Maybe you have a great pair of legs? This way you will feel confident and comfortable but will avoid looking too desperate to live up to some fantasy female figure. Let your personality shine through but give him a little hint of what lies beneath!
